Needs & Product Fit Router

Routes customer or broker needs to eligible insurance products and evidence paths.

A need reaches the desk in the customer's words, not the carrier's: three vans, a leased unit behind a restaurant, and a certificate of liability wanted by Friday. Candidate products come back filtered by state, segment, exposure and the paper the channel may write. Missing eligibility facts are named as missing. Routing is not advice, and an indication is not cover.

Illustrative workflow

How the work moves

Starting point

A small manufacturer asks an embedded broker for property, liability, and cyber protection.

  1. 01

Classify operations, locations, revenue, data exposure, and requested limits.

  2. 02

Filter products by jurisdiction, channel authority, and segment eligibility.

  3. 03

Return three eligible routes and open the selected submissions with their evidence lists.

Result

Product-route comparison with assumptions and three consented underwriting handoffs.

Checks and boundaries

What must be tested or reviewed

  1. 01The routing gold set covers an unavailable jurisdiction, two products in conflict, a commercial risk arriving through a personal-lines channel, a risk no admitted market will write, and a clean match.
  2. 02A route to a product that is not filed and in effect in that state fails, and so does any output a reader could take as a recommendation or as confirmation that cover is in place.
  3. 03Every missing eligibility fact is named as missing rather than defaulted, because a default that happens to be right still teaches the desk nothing.

Human authority

  • The licensed producer of record commits any recommendation, comparison or statement of what a policy covers, because that is a licensed act and a routing list is not one.
  • The product officer owns which products are open in which state and channel, because offering an unfiled form on admitted paper is a violation independent of any loss.
