KYB Onboarding Agent

Know-Your-Business onboarding for new SME relationships.

Collects the incorporation documents, verifies the business exists and trades, unwraps ownership to the controlling individuals, and assembles a risk-banded diligence file. Hands the file to Financial Crime for formal screening over an agent-to-agent handoff, does not mark the case complete without a verified screening return, and routes the cleared file to the accountable onboarding officer, who opens the relationship.

Illustrative workflow

How the work moves

Starting point

New SME applicant: a three-director limited company applying for a working-capital line.

  1. 01

Pull the registry filing; confirm active trading status and registered address.

  2. 02

Unwrap ownership; identify the controlling individuals.

  3. 03

Verify each director and route all parties to Financial Crime screening.

  4. 04

Assemble the KYB file with evidence and a risk band.

Result

A risk-banded KYB file with evidence and screening verified; flags one director with a recently dissolved company to the accountable onboarding officer.

Checks and boundaries

What must be tested or reviewed

  1. 01Completeness check against the KYB rule set before the file is marked done.
  2. 02High-risk entity types or opaque ownership route to the accountable onboarding officer for a decision.
  3. 03Agent-as-judge review of every beneficial-ownership unwrap before the onboarding officer signs off.

Human authority

Acts only within an explicit policy, permission and escalation boundary.
